A new class of

biomechanical
technology

The uniqueness
of AposTherapy®

Developed by orthopaedic and sports medicine specialists, AposTherapy® treats knee osteoarthritis and other MSK pathologies by redistributing the pressure on the joints of the lower extremities, pelvis and spine.

Using a footworn biomechanical device, this non-invasive, medicine-free treatment program integrates with the patient’s normal routine and requires only about one hour of use daily. The patient is monitored throughout the course of their treatment program by an AposTherapy® Certified Physiotherapist (ACPT). As the patient’s gait improves, the ACPT adjusts the device to stimulate continued gait improvement and pain relief.

How
AposTherapy®
works

AposTherapy® is a foot worn device that eases joint pain through the knee, lower back, hip and/ or ankle with its biomechanical technology by:
  • Reducing load on the painful areas and significantly reducing pain
  • Retraining the muscles, and ultimately correcting the abnormal walking patterns – even when not actively using the treatment

For many people who use it regularly, AposTherapy® is like a reset button for the body.

AposTherapy® harnesses biomechanics and neuromuscular training to enhance joint stability, appropriate muscle activation and proprioception, normalising gait patterns via a pain-reducing, effortless, at-home, cost-effective treatment programme.

The system is backed with extensive scientific and clinical evidence, showing significant improvement to patients’ pain and function levels by using the device for only around 60 minutes daily.

Clinically proven AposTherapy® is clinically proven to provide significant pain relief, optimise patients' neuromuscular control and improve function3, 6-15. Easy-of-use encourages compliance Offering an effortless programme, AposTherapy® allows the patient to go about their regular routine while the AposTherapy® treatment works in the background. Clinical success AposTherapy®’s current NHS projects show excellent clinical outcomes for a population that would otherwise be candidates for total joint replacements. Competitive advantage The AposTherapy® treatment is managed and monitored by a specially trained Apostherapy® Certified Physiotherapist (ACPT). The expert knowledge of the ACPT combined with the footworn device and easy, at-home treatment programme give AposTherapy® providers a competitive advantage. High patient satisfaction Patient satisfaction surveys, both internally and independently done, consistently report high rates of patient satisfaction, with as much as 98% of patients saying they would recommend AposTherapy® to friends and family1.

The AposTherapy®
treatment programme

4 easy steps

In-depth initial assessment

The AposTherapy® treatment cycle begins with an AposTherapy® Certified Physiotherapist (ACPT) conducting a free, in-depth assessment of the patient’s movement patterns, the root causes of their pain and the best approach to treatment. This consultation includes an examination and interview, questionnaires on pain, joint function and quality of life and a computerised gait analysis.

Individually-personalised therapy

Once the patient has been assessed, the ACPT assembles the AposTherapy® footworn device, calibrates the under-sole pods to the specific patient’s needs and prescribes a personalised therapy programme for the patient.

Effortless at-home treatment

Wearing it for about an hour a day indoors, the patient can go about his or her daily schedule, while the shoes correct their walking patterns and relieve stress on the affected areas. Any side effects are minor and rare, which may manifest in mild fatigue and muscular ache. In cases where they appear, they pass very quickly as treatment progresses.

Ongoing monitoring
and optimisation

The AposTherapy® treatment programme includes follow-up consultations and phone check-ups to assess the patient’s pain relief and function levels. The follow-up consultations include reviewing the objective markers performed during the initial consultation. Whenever necessary, the device is recalibrated, and the personalised therapy programme updated.
