lower back pain
Twenty percent of musculoskeletal GP consultations are related to the back and most are related to lower back pain (LBP).
The problem with lower back pain is that it can result in a downward spiral of pain that gets worse and worse. When the pain starts, in order to avoid triggering the pain sensation, the muscles of the lower back will, in many cases, “brace” themselves causing the spinal structures to compress and making the spine more vulnerable to further injury. To undo the “bracing” requires redirecting the muscles of the lower back to take the pressure off the stressed area, which in turn relieves the pain that caused the discomfort in the first place.
How AposTherapy® helps
AposTherapy® treats the symptoms of painful lower back conditions (i.e. pain, restricted motion, swelling and stiffness), as well as their underlying causes (misalignment and damaging walking patterns).
Using an innovative foot-worn device, the treatment redistributes the forces acting on the lower back, correcting alignment and muscle operation to encourage pain relief and improved function.
